People have disapproved of anything different from them for as long as we can remember. From the Salem witch hunts to the civil rights movement of the 1960's we have grudgingly made pushes toward equality. Our nation as a whole is moving toward Thomas Jefferson's all too eloquent statement, "all men are created equal."
But, even with the progress we believe we've made in the past 40 years, we still have a distance to go in

prejudice would be to encourage children to intermingle with each other more at younger ages. Another possible solution would be to have stiffer laws enacted against businesses who prefer to hire a specific race or group in spite of the others, i.e. Asian people or white men. We have made a lot of progress since Martin Luther King made his first march in Birmingham, Alabama, but we still have a long way to go.
