A Day at the Beach

For four summers, I have worked at the beach, carrying chairs, and food for the residents of the Village of Atlantic Beach sometimes being called a "chair girl." …how to deal with people. This skill will stay with me all my life. Sure, I can tell you the Brendan Smith like her coffee with skim milk and sweet-and-low, or that Mark Hassin takes his hot dogs burnt with mustard, but, most importantly, I'm comfortable telling you these things. Even writing has become more natural, as speaking fast and freely has become not only a part of my job but also part of me.
