'A Midsummer Night's Dream'- How Characters Convey Theme
In 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', Shakespeare uses his characters, as well as plot to convey theme. The characters of Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius and Helena all portray the theme of love in different ways.

of the love that she is given. She also shows the same theme that Demetrius shows of loving but not being loved. This occurs when Helena loves Demetrius but at that point of time, he didn't love her.
As a whole, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' conveys theme through characters well. In my opinion, the main theme of the play is love, since the majority of the characters experience this at some point throughout the play.
