who have not yet taken advantage of a savings program may be scared at the idea of decreased funding from Social Security. Moreover they may feel taken advantage because they had been paying FICA expecting someday to receive that money in return. I personally like the idea although it will take a long time to be in full swing. Self-reliance and frugality are hard qualities to learn, since we have been dependent for so long.
