Analysis of "No Child Left Behind" Act

President Bush expressed his position that "too many of our neediest children are being left behind," despite the nearly $200 billion in Federal spending since the passage of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965. He placed an emphasis on his values and beliefs that public schooling has the potential to allow all students to achieve their academic potential. …that every child has equally opportunity to excel. The policy is by far the best way so far to meet the goals presented, but there should also be a way to allow for individual difference. The NCLB increases the quality of education because schools are required to improve their performance, are now implementing "scientifically based research", and requires schools and districts to focus their attention on the academic achievement of traditionally under-served groups of children.
