Analysis of "Spirited Away" directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

The story of spirited away begins with Chihiro, the protagonist of the story moving to a new house in a country town. Initially Chihiro is stubborn and reluctant about leaving her friends and old life behind. Later on the family runs into what seems like an abandoned theme park, but is actually an entrance to a spirit world and more specifically a bathhouse for gods. …story is finished not because evil was vanquished or the other world disappeared, but simply because Chihiro found the will to survive. This is a recurring theme in many of Miyazaki's works as is his belief that to destroy evil completely would be to destroy the world. He and many other Japanese people believe that evil is part of this world, and integral to its existence; to deny evil is absurdity, to vanquish it, impossibility.
