…In a way, you can take this as being "romantic" completely, in a way. I get the impression he did take her life so that they could be together forever as they had wanted. It only leaves me wondering why he didn't take his own life himself. Because, if he did kill her for this matter, it would seem that he would do the same. But, this poem leaves a lot to the readers imagination.
