Considering the time in which Archimedes lived, his observations and discoveries are very remarkable. He made some very fundamental discoveries in several fields, and advanced them so far that his results were not improved upon for many centuries. He definitely ranks as one of the greatest minds in history (Archimedes. scidiv).
