In the following essay, based on my knowledge of history and historical data, I will disprove that the Articles of Confederation provided the United States with an effective government.
The Articles of Confederation was the first written constitution of the United States. It established a loose league of friendship between 13 sovereign states and proposed that each state have its sovereignty, freedom, and independence. still used today. This constitution solved problems that had been faced under the Articles. One was the establishment of two houses of Congress, the Senate and the House of Representatives. In the Senate, each state would have equal representation while in the House of Representatives, it would be based on population. According to this essay, I have proven that the Articles of Confederation did not provide the United States with an effective form of government.
