Biography of Alfred Tennyson
Alfred Tennyson was born into an old Lincolnshire family and was the fourth of twelve children. He went to school with Frederick and Charles, two of his brothers, in 1815 at Louth grammar school. Tennyson left school in 1820 as he was unhappy but under difficult conditions his father gave him a broad education. published the first poems of "Idylls of the King" and completes it in 1872. At the time "Idylls of the King" was selling 10,000 copies per month. In 1865, his mother died which brought him great grief.
In 1885, he published "Tiresias and other Poems." In 1892 Alfred died after a long illness.
