Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: Necessary to save American lives.

In December of 1941, the Japanese launched a horrific attack on the United States naval base of Pearl Harbor. It was a spontaneous attack on the United States and the only reason that the Japanese did it, was to draw the attention of us away from Germany and the Axis taking over Europe. America responded to the attacks on Pearl Harbor quickly and Truman asked for a declaration of war against Japan. Many battles against Japan …

…could create. We were not only protected by the technology of the nuclear bomb, but also by our newly founded allies at NATO. NATO would not have been formed if we did not drop the bombs because some other country would have begun to reshape the postwar world. As it is looked back upon today, without it, World War II, might have produced more American casualties and affected our country in a seriously negative way.
