Richard M. McMurry's "Two Great Rebel Armies" compared the differences between the Army of Northern Virginia with its successes and the Army of Tennessee with its failures. He states that the Army of Northern Virginia had a better command structure from trained lieutenants on up to over all army command. Two Great Rebel Armies could be seen as breaking new ground on the merits of two main armies-t he Army of Nortern Virgina and the Army of Tennessee. In conclusion, I would recommend this book to any person who would want to learn more about the American Civil War.
