Buddhism and Hinduism have differences in their positions on the self and desires. In light of Buddhism and Hinduism's positions on self and desires, I would rather follow Hinduism. In Hinduism, the place that we are striving for is Brahman. In Buddhism, the place that we are striving for is Buddha-nature. I really believe that once worldly success and sense pleasures are found out to be unsatisfactory by the atman, liberation is grasped. Without the pursuit of desires, liberation would not and could not be grasped. In light of Buddhism and Hinduism's positions on self and desires, I would rather follow Hinduism.
