Today, Salinger is still living in seclusion, in a small town in New Hampshire called Cornish. He continues to write daily as well as meditate, and work in his vegetable garden (Maynard 325). His last published work is Hapworth 16, 1924, a short story that was published in The New Yorker in 1965.
