…poems are memories of the poets and both are dispirited poems. There are also subjects that dealt with in only one of the poems as well. In 'Mid-Term Break' they are his family, the community and death. In 'The Prize' they are her students and death. In conclusion, I have found that 'Mid-Term Break' and 'The Prize' are two contrasting yet similar poems. The topics dealt with in each poem vary but some are alike.
