Current State of Performance Standards

The education system is one of the most important factors in a student's career. It sets a basis to what interests the student to pursue in life and future goals to achieve. Currently, students are forced to achieve performance standards as a requirement to graduate. …class to retake the failed course. Either way, an extra burden is put upon not only the students, but also the parents to help pay for summer school. Thus making either parents or students to get an extra job. Most of all, performance standards have too much emphasize on them more than other tests. The more emphasize on the standards bring, more concentration on that particular part of that subject, while other criteria is ignored.
