Deserts: How are they formed?

There are a number of processes in the world that are all equally responsible in the creation of deserts. First off, there is a low-pressure band along the equator. The low air pressure is hot air. Hot air absorbs the moisture held on land. Absorbing the moisture the hot air rises, moving away from the Earth's surface it cools. This process of cooling creates clouds. …a desert. Deserts and the location of major wind systems: Winds play a major role in the method of desert making. The North East and the South East trades all blow away from the land drying it out. The winds do this to try and equalize the pressure in the subtropics and the Equator. The movement of air masses have created the two belts of deserts in the Tropic of Capricorn and Tropic of Cancer.
