…there is no one left to blame. It's not the fans, an absent entertainment factor in the game itself, not the collective bargaining biting at the heels of NHL administration, and not the Pittsburghs of the league, for, famously, "we are no stronger than our weakest links". But if the NHL is so desperate to find a place to store its mislaid blame, there's nowhere left for them to look now but in the mirror.
