Both Prometheus Bound and Oedipus Rex are Greek tragedies. They are very similar, being the same genre, but there are also a few key differences and similarities between the two. Since the characters of each are very different, yet the main ideas are the same, this is only to be expected.
Each play has a tragic hero as the main character- Prometheus and Oedipus. Prometheus attempted to help humans by giving them fire against Zeus'

to be reasonable towards Prometheus, who in turn is stubborn and proud. Apollo apparently has nothing better to do than mess around with Oedipus' life, either.
Both of these plays were accurate tragedies and I enjoyed them immensely. They had many thought-provoking ideas and in-depth characters. They also had all the elements of tragedy- a tragic hero, a tragic flaw, a tragic fall, a moment of realization, and a bit of catharsis to add spice.
