…life. The use of the slant rhyme scheme is indicative of something in the message being a little off. The calm tone of the story brings all of these elements together by helping the reader believe the speaker's peaceful feelings towards death. The speaker's belief in immortality, and the compassion and gentility shown to her by death make it comfortable for her to exit life on earth, while embracing the last phase of her life.
