The reconciliation of the physical world and faith has always been difficult, especially in regards to the Eucharist and accepting bread and wine to actually be the body and blood of Christ. …scientific evidence must be put aside, purely receiving the sacrament on faith is difficult, while an understanding of the history and the different opinions regarding the body and blood of Christ in the bread and wine may allow for the "validation" of the sacrament for oneself. In a time of increasing skepticism and atheism, it is critical to examine ones faith and question it, and no longer accept merely tradition for the sake of tradition.
