troops to take the hill. By doing that, Lee lost thousands of men, and those losses cost him the war. Meade won the war by keeping his men alive. He did this by making quick, technical and tactical decisions based on his army's capabilities, as well as creating a plan of attack and keeping his troops informed. This proves that General Meade was a great leader.
