…great pain for his friend Leartes. In apologizing and admitting his mistake he expresses feelings and displays interest in how Leartes feels. He is aware of the pain he inflicted and feels sorry. Hamlet's behavior demonstrates clearly that he has changed. Perhaps the death of Ophelia and Leartes dramatic jump in to the grave woke Hamlet up and made him realize through his new awareness that his actions have caused pain and hurt to others.
