Germany has a strong historical tradition of totalitarian control from dictators such as Hitler. From Bismarck and the establishment of the Reich to Hitler, Germany's climate craved a totalitarian and militarily arrogant leader. The basic lack of support for the Weimar republic among the German people, the unstable economy, the depression of 1929, the unresolved defeat of 1918 and the forced struggle against the activities of the Nazi's such as revolts and protests, and also the Nazis party overall presentations to the public, all contributed to the failure of the Weimar republic resulting in the rise of the Nazis and eventually the rise of Hitler to power.
