GANDHI the movie is, above all, meant for entertainment. However, the movie is historically correct save for a few exceptions; but it is clear why Richard Attenborough (GANDHI's director) has made these errors.

<Tab/>Excepting these few minor (if it can be called this) errors, Attenborough has made sure his film is historically accurate as well as entertaining. He spent many years just preparing to shoot the video and spent much time researching India's modern history. It is futile to even try to find major mistakes in Attenborough's masterpiece GANDHI.
