…of his past. It is not said in the book that Jon actually goes to the world but it says that Chiang has a desire of going back to the flock as he vanishes into the atmosphere. Chiang requires Jon to realize the meaning of love. This book ends with Jon vanishing in to the atmosphere while his own pupil Fletcher Lynd gull realize the true meanings of life and love by teaching other gulls.
