Liberal Democracy

The concept of 'democracy' was first conceived in Athens, Greece around 400bc. Democracy was the characteristic form of government in Athens, home to Socrates and Plato. He has also stated that government is established to control men from their brutish nature. Both John Locke and Baron de Montesquieu would argue that men are fundamentally good and are capable to live freely under the protection of the government.
