…ivilization to savagery but the primary guilty party is Jack. He is no longer a civil child but a tyrant to many children. If the British navel officers would not have shown up, Jack would have turned many of the children against each other and the island would have been in panic and in horror of their futur. As long as there were no adults there, the boys would keep on sliding away from civilization.
