It is said that Machiavelli had great contributions to the world of politics and of political thought. However, a majority of these contributions did not come from speeches, or numerous literary works, like most influential people, (example, Erasmus). However, after the book was written, (even a century later), there doesn't seem to be an accelerated pace at which political secularization had been taken place. Whether he never truly impacted anyone during his own time, and could thus be called ahead of his time, it is easily observed that centuries after his death, he had extremely impacted the people of the world, not just those of Italy.
