A black man is whipped and beaten. Three young girls lose their father and all their money is stolen from them. Two families constantly feud and fight. They don't even end this when they begin to lose all those who are close to them. These are all instances of people being treated unfairly. …the reward money. None of these people had any concern for Jim as a person; they only saw him as money. Huck protected Jim in each instance. People were racist and treated slaves inhumanely. Throughout this novel people are treated inhumanely. Huck sees this and reacts accordingly. He tries to help everyone. Society has many flaws; one is how poorly people are treated. This novel shows the wrong treatment of people. People treat people inhumanely.
