Marc Antony's Funeral Oration in "Julius Caeser".

In this speech Mark Antony argues that Julius Caesar was dishonourably murdered by Brutus and his accomplices. He argues for the crowd to see through Brutus' apparent integrity and for the crowd to hold him to account for his crime in assassinating the once much respected leader. This speech ensures that Julius Caesar, even after death, commands the respect and devotion from the plebeians, that he achieved during life. Antony's statement that his heart is in the coffin with Caesar becomes more than an expression of his own grief but a dominating metaphor, occupying the emotional void that Brutus could not reach whilst enabling Julius Caesar to exact his revenge.
