Matthew Fontaine Maury

Matthew Fontaine Maury was born on Jan. 14, 1806 in Spotsylvania County, VA. His mother, Diana minor Maury, and his father, Richard Maury, had already had 6 children before the time of his birth. His siblings were Walker, Dick, Charles, John, Matilda, Betsy, Catharine Ann, and Mary Maury. …things he did, the people that knew him know that he was an even greater person when you knew him. Many people don't know who this man is and most may never know, but the people of Virginia should, since they have a school holiday and a monument in his name. I am glad I have gotten a chance to learn about this great historical figure and hope to do more essays such as this.
