All Michael Lovett wanted from his first job was to earn a little bit of money to buy his own vehicle and other teenage luxuries. But instead of a little extra cash, an accident cost him a leg and left him walking on an artificial limb. A metal rod was inserted in his left thigh. He had nine surgeries and 12 blood transfusions in total. Learning to walk with a prosthetic leg was extremely painful and time consuming. He entire life had changed; he felt as if he had lost his "youth".
