To slaves, the Middle Passage was hell, they were carried onto the ship naked, men were shackled two by two, the right wrist and ankle of one to the left wrist and ankle of another. So, the real reason slavery existed so long was the greed of European Americans. All they thought of was the amount of money they could receive if they produced a large amount of goods in a short time.
