My report on Maria Gaetana Agnesi

When I think of mathematicians, I think of men and women working contentedly throughout the night, leaving their families, dedicating their entire lives to solving the complex equations and fundamentals of math itself. Now, when I think of Maria Agnesi, I think of someone completely different. Maria was an amazing person. She dedicated her life to helping bring up her siblings, and helping the poor and less fortunate. And with all of that going on, …

…when females were not always supposed to be educated. She had an amazing grasp of mathematical concepts, but she also lived out her life being an amazing humanitarian, helping sick and needy women. Maria Gaetana Agnesi changed the field of mathematics, discovered new formulas and equations, wrote books that would help teach many worldwide, mastered seven languages by the age of nine, and broke gender boundaries. Maria Gaetana Agnesi was an amazing mathematician and person.
