The ability to negotiate effectively is critical to the success of managers and the organizations they represent. Negotiation can be defined as a "reasonable" discussion between two or more parties who endeavor to resolve incompatible goals. The parties involved may be individuals, groups, organizations, or political units such as countries. negotiator must leave all bias and personal conflict outside the door, but must maintain common sense. This must be an art that is acquired over a very long period of time. I contend that one's ability to manage and provide sound solutions to disagreements takes a tremendous amount of patience and understanding, like being married!
