Observational Research VS. Focus Group Research

1. What are the strengths and drawbacks of both observational and focus group research? Observational research has more strengths than drawbacks. In observational research everyone gets to observe the subject then come to a conclusion together. This makes it better than Focus groups because there is not one person talking about the subject. …or using the restroom. Focus groups would have to almost be an observation group to correct their drawbacks. They may get more than one person to observe and tell the story. If you have 4 people they are more likely to have two stories that are similar so that you have more than one perspective. Making sure everyone gets involved in the decision is also important. This would help the group in making the right decision.
