Olympic Rant

In 1992 the Olympic games ceased to exist as a peace oriented event where the competition and love of the athlete's chosen sport was the focus. It was then that the IOC (International Olympic Committee) decided to allow professional athletes to participate in the games and thus shifting the focus to money. "Big Deal," I hear all too often "the best athletes are professionals anyway." That very well may be true, but an amateur athlete's inspiration …

…the "athletes" at the Olympic games aren't even old enough to vote and a majority of those have never faced a challange larger than getting rid of acne. I've actually started a little game with myself where I count the zits and prognosticate a winner by which team has the most. Need a sponsor? I hear Clearasil and Listerex have a lock on the 2008 games and in 2012 the main sponsors will be Pampers and Huggies.
