…Othellos' jealousy of Desdemona are entertained because of Iagos deception. Othello, instead of seeing through this deception, deceives himself, and convinces himself that Desdemona is deceiving him. This play shows clearly the consequences of jealousy, and the value of truth, for if Othello would have trusted Desdemona, he would never have even begun to listen to Iagos evil deception, and would have exposed Iago for the villain he really was before it was too late.
