A parable is a short story that has a moral and usually contains a religious lesson. The parable of the wise and wicked servants can be found in both the Book of Matthew and the Book of Luke in the Bible. Jesus told this story to illustrate the return of the Lord. According to the Book of Luke:

remained faithful are the wise servants. They did as Jesus told them and will therefore be richly rewarded. Nonbelievers and the unfaithful are the wicked servants. Those who are unaware of God's message will not be as severely punished as those who heard it and refused to believe it. This parable teaches us that we should remain vigilant until his return and maintain the righteous path and we will be greatly rewarded in the afterlife.
