…corruption. It is very obvious that prohibition was a huge failure, which affected the lives of the American people greatly. There was not a reasonable force to ensure that the Volstead act was kept. The problems that prohibition was intended to solve, such as crime, grew worse and never returned to what they were like before prohibition began. Not only was prohibition ineffective, it was also damaging to the people it was designed to help.
