Like it's predecessor "The Lost World" has a unique cast with some old faces from the previous novel. However some character development seems to have been lost in exchange for a fast paced action packed story. And like "Jurrassic Park", "The lost World" was equally entertaining.
Nevertheless, in spite of traditional plotlines and simplistic characterizations, Crichton's concise prose style, tightly organized plots, contemporary themes, and engaging action continue to make his works popular and successful.
