…which the letter laid out for her in life. Even when put in adversity, Hester used the power of the letter to help others, just as God would do. The letter was deceiving to the society, as it was first placed on her to make her a social outcast. Hester, and others in the community, had to seek within themselves for the power of God, or in this case, the power of the scarlet letter.
