Should women, as well as men, have to register for the selective service at the age 18?

In the past years, women were not allowed to register for the selective service at age 18. This was because the law said that only men, 18 and above, could register for selective service. This law states that once a young male turn 18 he should register for selective service within the 30 days of turning 18 and before he reaches age 26.
