The Cuban Missile Crisis

The Cuban Missile Crisis was a diplomatic conflict that lasted for thirteen days. It came about after the US discovered that the Soviet Union was building missile bases in Cuba, which is very close to America. President Kennedy was forced to react to stop the threat of missile attack. …believed the Soviets would be incensed by this message and attack. At this time most of the government was expecting World War III. On October 28 Kruschev agreed to remove the missiles. The world could breathe again. During this period there were so many actions taken that could have been seen to be hostile, resulting in a conflict. It is very fortunate that the leaders listened to the voice of reason and kept the (relative) peace.
