The Giver
Society refers to people who interact in a defined territory and share culture. In Lois Lowry's The Giver "1993," Jonas grows up only knowing the existence of his society. The society in which The Giver takes place is known as sameness. Everything is done the same, and nobody knows different. the citizens only know that way of life so it is no problem to them. If you took away the freedom of choice in our society the people would go crazy. There would be riots and protest. This is all because we have experienced freedom. Once Jonas receives memories from The Giver he wants to help the society. He sees that it is a better way of life and wants to give his society feelings.
