In conclusion, I think that this story really hammered the point home. His use of
description helped to form the characters, especially Mathilde. His omission of detail
helped to form the character of Mathilde's husband and his simplistic portrayal of the
main point helped to focus solely on the irony of the story. I thought it was a very good
example of situational irony and attitude.
