The Relationship Between Romanticism and Transcendentalism

Romanticism and Transcendentalism have a relationship that is similar of a mother to a daughter. Certain traits were passed along by the writers but each era differed in their own unique way. The Romanticists believed that certain parts of nature are beautiful, such as life, but were disgusted by others, such as death. They also believed that God may be both a good yet an evil entity. …the Transcendentalists shared a common root. This root was found in the concept of life. On many other topics and concepts the Romanticists and the Transcendentalists disagreed. One of these concepts is the concept of death. Another was the subject of God. However, despite all of this, the Transcendentalists did find their roots in Romanticism. Through the concept of life the Transcendentalist found his common "friend" and used this concept as the cornerstone for Transcendentalism.
