They volunteer to serve their country in 1914, fighting in the trenches on the Western Front battlefields, quickly finding that their illusions of glory are shattered. As it is commonly known, special effects play a significant role in making a film entertaining. In his film, those effects were not developed enough to help attracting people, but we can notice that it was a real success.
