"The Yellow wallpaper"

The narrator of "The Yellow Wallpaper" loses touch with reality and the world in this story. The story begins as her husband takes her for a summer vacation to a Colonial mansion, a hereditary estate, which she thinks is haunted. Her husband, being her doctor also takes her there as treatment after being diagnosed with a nervous depression, which her treatment includes that she do almost nothing active. …she herself is the trapped woman. She is so into the wallpaper, as her husband walks in and sees the way she is acting, he passes out and she continues to creep around right over him looking and examining the room. I believe in her own mind she figured out what was wrong with her and her nervous disorder, she felt trapped and this is where the wallpaper contributes to the meaning of the story.
